Designed to inspire and educate, the Arckit Sustainability Studio Workshop offers a transformative, hands-on exploration of sustainable architecture catering to various age groups and educational needs.
How Do Our Arckit Workshops Work?
The workshop unfolds in three structured phases: education, creation, and presentation. Initially, participants engage with the fundamental principles of sustainability in architecture. This foundational knowledge sets the stage for the next phase, where participants are 'recruited' by a top architecture firm. Tasked by a 'top-secret' client, they apply their new skills to design and build innovative, eco-friendly buildings with Arckit. As the workshop concludes, each group presents their architectural models, simulating a real-world client meeting.
The Arckit Sustainability Studio goes beyond traditional education by immersing participants in a practical experience that not only teaches sustainable architecture but also inspires them to apply these principles in their daily lives and communities. This session is not just about learning; it’s about inspiring real change and empowering individuals to make a positive impact on the environment.
What Awaits You in Our Arckit Workshops?
With three different offerings, catering to primary school students, secondary school students, and adults, we ensure that our educational approach is accessible and relevant to learners at all stages of life. This diversity in our audience allows us to foster a widespread understanding and appreciation of sustainable architecture across generations.
Primary Students
Introduction to Sustainable Architecture
Engage young minds with the basics of sustainable design through fun and interactive model-building activities. Our primary student workshop introduces the concepts of eco-friendly materials and simple design techniques that impact the environment positively.
Secondary Students
Advanced Architectural Solutions
Dive deeper into sustainable architecture with secondary students as they explore complex design challenges and innovative solutions. This session emphasises energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of sustainable materials in building designs.
Adults
Designing for Resilience
Tailored for adult learners, this workshop focuses on sophisticated architectural strategies that address urbanisation and climate resilience. Participants will design models that reflect advanced concepts in environmental sustainability and learn how these practices can be implemented in community planning.
Outcomes
-
Engage and Educate
Each workshop is a gateway to understanding sustainability through the lens of architecture. By building models using the Arckit system, participants not only learn about sustainable practices but also apply these concepts in creative and tangible ways.
-
Tailored Learning
We offer three distinct sessions tailored to the educational level of participants. Whether it's young students just starting to learn about sustainability or adults looking to deepen their understanding, our workshops are designed to meet everyone's needs.
-
Community Impact
These workshops are more than just educational activities; they are an investment in the community's future. Participants leave empowered to make informed decisions about sustainability, impacting their personal lives and the broader community.

Jevon Nichols- Teacher, Torquay P-6 College★★★★★
The authentic, real-life purpose for learning made the workshop highly engaging for students. The ArcKit materials also allowed them to show their understandings of the concepts explored in the session in a practical way. A highlight was when one student cheered after having been 'recruited' to work in the architectural firm - a wonderful moment.

Russell Taylor-Shaw- Principal, Deans Marsh Primary★★★★★
The Arckit Sustainability session was just what we needed and what the students wanted. The session with Madison tied in well with our school science and technology unit and was very hands-on and engaging. The session was even mentioned as a semester highlight by several students in their end of semester reflections.
