A Night of Innovation: The Brainary at the Rhodes Robot Ball 2026
Share
On Friday evening, 22nd May, the energy at the Rhodes Robot Ball 2026 was nothing short of electric. Hosted by Canada Bay Libraries, the event brought together curious minds, families, students, and technology enthusiasts for a vibrant celebration of robotics, creativity, and future-focused learning, transforming the library space into a hub of exploration.
🐾 MechDog Workshop
At The Brainary workshop, all eyes were on MechDog, our agile robot dog powered by advanced robotics and AI.
From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the space was buzzing with energy as students and families gathered around for a hands-on experience that rarely had a quiet moment. MechDog quickly became the centre of attention, with a constant flow of participants eager to interact, explore, and ask questions.

Children were especially excited when they discovered MechDog’s SCRATCH-style programming app—a familiar interface for many who had already been introduced to coding at school. That recognition sparked immediate confidence, allowing them to jump straight into understanding how commands translate into real-world robotic movement. Parents, too, quickly saw the value, recognising how accessible and intuitive the platform was for learners at different stages.
What stood out most was the depth of engagement. Many families returned multiple times throughout the evening—curious to learn more, ask deeper questions, and explore the full capabilities of the system.
For those wanting to go further, the workshop also showcased MechDog’s extensive online learning ecosystem. Participants could clearly see how this wasn’t just a one-time interaction, but a pathway for ongoing learning and skill development.
The level of interest spoke for itself. MechDog didn’t just capture attention—it created genuine excitement around what’s possible when robotics is placed directly into the hands of learners.

💡 Inspiring the Next Generation
Events like the Rhodes Robot Ball highlight something we deeply believe at The Brainary: learning is most powerful when it’s interactive, engaging, and future-focused. Through experiences like this workshop, participants don’t just observe technology—they begin to understand it, question it, and imagine how they might shape it.
A big thank you to Canada Bay Libraries for hosting such an inspiring event, and to everyone who joined us on the night. Your curiosity, questions, and enthusiasm made the experience truly memorable.
